چکیده

This paper investigates the optimization of a non-traditional vibration absorber for simultaneous suppression and energy harvesting. Unlike traditional absorber, has its damper connected between mass base. An electromagnetic harvester is used as tunable damper. attached to primary system that subjected random base excitation. analytical study conducted by assuming excitation white noise. In terms suppression, objective minimize power dissipated maximize It found when undamped, remains constant related ratio. The higher ratio, dissipated. When damped, minimization damping equivalent maximization existence optimum solutions depends on both ratio harvesting, harvested load resistor. given frequency tuning required slightly than power. trade-off issue harvesting investigated. apparatus developed allow tuning. Both numerical simulation experimental with band-limited noise validate general trends revealed in study.

Application of an active electromagnetic vibration absorber in vibration suppression

A novel active electromagnetic vibration absorber (AEMVA) is developed. It is shown that for suppression of steady-state response to a harmonic excitation, a proportional and derivative feedback control is equivalent to a time-delayed control. The study of the stability issue focuses on a conflicting goal of achieving the marginal stability of the time-delayed vibration absorber and the stabili...

A periodic folded piezoelectric beam for efficient vibration energy harvesting

Periodic piezoelectric beams have been used for broadband vibration energy harvesting in recent years. In this paper, a periodic folded piezoelectric beam (PFPB) is introduced. The PFPB has special features that distinguish it from other periodic piezoelectric beams. The Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is used to calculate the first two band gaps andtwelve natural frequencies of the PF...

Broadband Vibration Energy Harvesting Techniques

The continuous reduction in power consumption of wireless sensing electronics has led to immense research interests in vibration energy harvesting techniques for self-powered devices. Currently, most vibration-based energy harvesters are designed as linear resonators that only work efficiently with limited bandwidth near their resonant frequencies. Unfortunately, in the vast majority of practic...

Energy harvesting vibration sources for microsystems applications

This paper reviews the state-of-the art in vibration energy harvesting for wireless, self-powered microsystems. Vibration-powered generators are typically, although not exclusively, inertial spring and mass systems. The characteristic equations for inertial-based generators are presented, along with the specific damping equations that relate to the three main transduction mechanisms employed to...

Electrostrictive Polymers for Vibration Energy Harvesting

Recent progresses in microelectronics that enabled the design ultra-low consumption, fully operative electronic systems, have permitted the disposal of autonomous wireless devices ([1]). However, primary batteries, that initially promoted the development of such systems, have nowadays become a break to the spreading of long-lifetime autonomous apparatus, mainly because of their limited lifespan...
